An independent magazine for magicians. This volume features an note by Victor Farelli telling, two month later, the death of Georges Méliès. The note's fist paragraph reads:
"The Parsian lay Press report at considerable length of Mons. Georges Melies wich ocurred in Paris on the twenty-first of January"
The cover photo shows the great magician David Devant performing a levitating woman trick.
 
Revista independiete para magos. Este numero incluye una nota de Victor Farelli anunciando, dos meses despues, la muerte de George Méliès. El primer parrafo de la note dice:
"La prensa Parsian reporta con tardanza considerable la muerte de Mon. Georges Méliès que ocurrió en Paris el veintiuno de Enero."

A magazine for children. Include an brief and curious article on page 3 titled "A visit to the Moon" trying to interested children on space exploration. The following transcription is an excerpt paragraph where they compare the filmmaker with Walt Disney:
 
"One of the earliest movies ever made was called A trip to the Moon. It was a cartoon - similar to the Walt Disney cartoons films that delight movie audiences today.
A trip tho the Moon was made in 1902 by a French artist and magician named George Méliès. Our front cover is a scene from this film. Méliès was the Walt Disney of his day."
 
Revista para niños que incluye un breve y curioso artículo en la página 3 titulado "Una visita a la Luna" tratando de interesar a los niños en la exploración espacial. La siguiente es una trascripción de un fragmento de ese artículo en que comparan a Méliès con Walt Disney:
 
"Una de las primeras películas hechas se llamó Un Viaje a La Luna. Era de animación (cartoon) - similar a las películas animadas que deleitan a la audiencia actualmente.

From the collection "The First 100 Years". This book is a preview of the most complete and extensive book "Mélies: El Alquimista de la Luz" (Méliès: Alchemist of Light" by the same author (See Exhib3 section on this Exhibition). The author made a great research on Méliès work and life. Some essays analyze in deep the art, psique, evolution and invention of fantastique cinema.
Includes an interesting interview with Marie-Hélène Méliès.
Last part of the book is a selected filmography from 1896 to 1913 with film descriptions and some technical details.
 
De la coleccón 'Los primeros 100 años" de la Cineteca nacional de México Este libro es un adelanto de loq ue sería el mas completo y extenso libro "Mélies: El Alquimista de la Luz" (ver sección Exhib3 de esta colección). El autor hace una gran investigación sobre la vida y obra de Méliès. Algunos ensayos analizan profundamente el arte, la psique, la evolución y la invención del cine fantastico.
Incluye una interesante entrevista con Marie-Hélène Méliès y una selecta filmografía muy detallada que va desde 1896 hasta 1913 con descripciones de las películas y algunos detalles técnicos.

Fench publication for cinema history. This numbers features "Les Actualites Reconstituees de Georges Melies" (News reconstrution from Georges Méliès) by Jacques Malthete.
 
Mélies films some times took social scandals or important events as news reactings and reconstructions for the screen. This kind of "documentary" works best indicate that Méliès wold have been fully capable of making realist films if he wanted to. That films never presumed to pass for the real events; there are reconstructions of the events and was specifically advertised as such. He dedicated most of his enormous output to magical fantasy.

Algunas veces las películas de Méliès tomaban escandalos sociales o eventos imporatntes para reconstruirlos en pantalla. Este tipo de trabajo "documental" indican que Méliès era muy capaz de hacer filmes realistas si lo hubiera querido. Estos filmes nunca se hacian pasar por los eventos reales, como otros cineastas si engañaban al público de esa manera, sino que especificaban y se anunciaban como reconstrucciones.

In 1929 Studio 28 held made the Gala Méliés at the Pleyel Theater, with several Méliès rescued films. Later Studio 28 projected this films from December 1929 to August 1930.
 
This pamphlet is dated December 10, 1930 and was for a Gala projection on Montreuil-seus-Bois, the small town where the filmmaker used to live and where he build his movie studio. features a text by Maurice Noverre with a brief description of Méliès life and work.
 
En 1929 Studio 28 organiza la Gala Méliès en la Sala Pleyel con varios filmes rescatados de Méliès y proyecta mucho de su obra de Diciembre 1929 a Agosto de 1930.
 
Este panfleto esta fechado Diciembre 10 de 1930 y es para la proyeción de la Gala en Montreuil-seus-Bois, el pequeño poblado donde vivió el cineasta y donde construyó su estudio de cine, el primero del mundo. Contiene un texto de Maurice Noverre describiendo en breve la vida y obra del cineasta.
